Rise of Power: Features
As a Head of State of a fictional country, would you adopt the way of peace or would you choose to retain the same old policies that are crippling your nation?
Would you be able to transform your nation into a prosperous state? Or would you remain a ruthless Leader until people force you out of power?
Rise of Power is about the difficulties one may face to transform any ruler/nation into a free and prosperous nation/state with little corruption, equal justice and employment for all - in short, a near-Utopian state.
- Play as a Head of State of any of the accurately modeled fictional nations and steer your country to the path of prosperity or destruction. Would you want your name to go down in history as a Great Reformer or a Ruthless Dictator? Your choices alone will determine the outcome of the game and future of your country.
- Choose from over 10 accurately modeled fictional* scenarios(partly based on real-life nations) with 5-built-in countries based on Tanesia, Pharaonia, Adenestan, Aljar, Zorosia and a couple of other scenarios as a download-able add-on.
- Change policies, implement reforms and choose the way of pleasing your people by meeting their demands
- Take steps to curtail corruption, reduce unemployment and implement equal justice for all in order for the people to rally in support of you rather than against you.
- Achieve a near-Utopian status and get crowned as the 'People's President'. There's no reason for complaints when everybody prospers in your state. While it is very hard to do so, it is certainly not impossible.
- Choose from a number of options to control the uprisings including enforcing bans on media, opposition-supportive TV channels and social networking
- Go as far as shutting down satellite linking of rival media outlets and detaining journalists who threaten your luxurious stay at the Presidential Palace. While you choose these options to further curtail freedom of speech and expression, beware that your actions may (or perhaps may not) threaten your power negatively.
- Send your personal supporters (your opposition calls them as 'thugs' though) to counter the growing discontent in an attempt to frighten them and send them back. But, would people run away or grow more stronger against you?
- Deploy military and riot police and use varying amount of force to control unrest. While you have all those options, don't forget that ultimately you are the Leader of these people and harming them isn't going to make them love you.
- Perhaps your country already has an emergency law active, but you may go further to take people of interest in preventive detention by restricting movement of opposition figures. Torture isn't going to give you a People's choice award, but if that's your style of attempting to retain power, then be prepared for the consequences too.
- How about retaining power by the will of people? Bring in genuine reforms by starting to lift bans on opposition groups and adopt peace as the method of engaging public.
- Would you suppress the revolution by all possible means in order to install your heir as a successor?
- Or would you prefer to take the democratic method and win back power legitimately by transforming yourself?
- Extend the gameplay with downloadable content including more countries, characters and rewards
- Slick 3D Menus, scintillating game-play complete with a 3D Situation room to keep track of events unfolding in the country
- Play a scenario mode or play as a single country.
- Play as opposition and lead the revolution to oust the regime. (Available through an add-on)
And tons of more features and decisions to make.
*The in-game countries are mostly fictional but inspired by real-life events and modeled partly on the data of those countries.
